BOOK REVIEW : THE STRANGE ADVENTURES OF H BY SARAH BURTON

    September 15, 2020 / 1 Comment

The Strange Adventures Of H is a fascinating memoir-style coming-of-age story of a young girl by the name H. This story is set during the Great Plague of London. It also covers The Great Fire of London and The Shrove Tuesday Riots that happened in London. H tells the readers her life story by taking us through a series of unfortunate events that drive her to make difficult decisions and having to fend for herself in the 17th century London that wasn't kind to young women who didn't have a man's protection. This is such an honest and raw account of her life experiences that make her the person she…

    MAY WRAP-UP

    May 30, 2020 / 1 Comment

Ramadan and being Quarantined was a new experience for me, as I am sure it was for everyone else. It was interesting, to say the least. I wasn't sure how much reading I will be able to get done. But I just moved forward with the mindset that I will be doing my best to read as much as I can. Things did work out for me and for that I am extremely grateful. I was able to finish the entire Quran and also twelve books in addition to that. There were some really fun reads and some emotional reads in May. Overall May was a good reading month for…

BOOK REVIEW : WHERE THE LOST WANDER BY AMY HARMON

    May 29, 2020 / 0 Comments

Where The Lost Wanderis a romantic historical fiction set on Oregon Trail and it tells us the hauntingly beautiful love story of Naomi May and John Lowry. They meet on their journey to California in search of a better life. Their journey was hard, filled with labor, pain ,sweat and tears. The book describes the reality of families who set on the path to a better future and having to endure the worst of hardships, sicknesses, and ugliness. This is not a sugar-coated version of the journey and the author pulled no punches in delivering a raw, unimaginably tragic story of love, loss, and hope. The story was so difficult…

    ANTICIPATED MAY 2020 RELEASES

    May 18, 2020 / 1 Comment

For some reason, I have been late for my anticipated releases for the last couple of months. I have been super busy reading books and with Ramadan going on things have been a little hectic. I haven't had much time to check the new releases. So I am just getting around to it. I hope I can still bring to attention some new books to add to your list.

BOOK REVIEW : ISLAND AFFAIR (KEYS TO LOVE #1) BY PRISCILLA OLIVERAS

    May 6, 2020 / 0 Comments

Island Affair is the first book to a brand new series called Keys To Love. The story is set in Key West with the island as a backdrop to this romance story. The author's love for Key West is very evident in this book. I loved the island setting and how the location felt like an integral part of the story highlighting the Cuban culture, food, and scenery all around.
