    November 13, 2021 / 6 Comments

Knight's Ransom by Jeff Wheeler is the first book in The First Argentines series. This series is set in the same world as the Kingfountain series. The court historian finds a personal journal of a lady who was held at Kingfountain to ensure her father's loyalty to the King. The story is told from Ransom the knight's perspective and Claire's journal entries. THE HOUSE OF STYX (VENUS ASCENDANT #1) BY DEREK KUNSKEN | BOOK REVIEW

    November 7, 2021 / 4 Comments

The House Of Styx by Derek Künsken is the first novel in the Venus Ascendant sci-fi series set in the churning clouds of Venus. Künsken creates a story of survival and family values. The atmospheric and visually detailed setting for this story is the highlight of this story. The harsh environment and unrelenting acidic rain in the atmosphere of Venus make for a challenging living environment for its inhabitants. While the rest of the world has taken over other planets in the solar system, the Québécois descendants have managed to inhabit Venus and make a new home.

YOU AND ME ON VACATION BY EMILY HENRY | BOOK REVIEW

    November 4, 2021 / 4 Comments

You And Me on Vacation by Emily Henry is my new favorite romance and I have been chasing after this exact feeling for some time now. It's a second chance friends-to-lovers romance. Poppy and Alex are the exact opposites and did not like each other on their first meeting. To say it was awkward and tense would be an understatement. Despite the rocky start the two of them end up taking a trip back home together and realize they might have been too hasty in forming their opinions on each other. Poppy is eccentric, fun, quirky, and outgoing and Alex is the quiet guy who prefers to stay indoors and…

THIRTEEN (EDDIE FLYNN #4) BY STEVE CAVANAGH | BOOK REVIEW

    October 30, 2021 / 2 Comments

Thirteen by Steve Cavanagh is a legal thriller, courtroom drama, and murder mystery all rolled into an exceptionally clever story. The synopsis mentioned serial killers and I was invested. I have read a couple of serial killer stories and have enjoyed them a lot. All of them were thrillers and had the investigative angle to them. This one is not that different either. We follow two POVs one of an ex-con turned defense lawyer Eddie Flynn and the other of Kane, the serial killer.

THE SHADOW IN THE GLASS BY J.J.A.HARWOOD | BOOK REVIEW

    April 7, 2021 / 2 Comments

The Shadow In The Glass is a dark, gothic retelling of Cinderella by J.J.A.Harwood. The story is set in Victorian England and takes us through the truly terrible times women had to face on a daily basis. The story takes place in Grandborough House where Mrs. Pembroke took in the recently orphaned Eleanor known as Ella. A DANCE OF LIES (THE OUTLANDS PENTALOGY #4) BY REBECCA CRUNDEN| BOOK REVIEW

    April 1, 2021 / 0 Comments

A Dance Of Lies is the 4th book in The Outlands Pentalogy. This series gets better with each book and I am all here for it. Each book focuses on a main character's POV taking us through their tumultuous lives as they fight against the oppression and tyranny of the heavily authoritarian Kingdom. A year of living in the Outlands hasn't resolved the issues building between Nate, Thom, Kitty, and the rest of the group. Their found family of people of the Kingdom and Radiants have found a routine to their lives, living day to day the best way possible. Not everyone is happy to flee from the Kingdom and…
