JANUARY WRAP-UP

2021 is on the way, and I don’t really know how to feel about this year even after a month into it. January is over and I planned to start slow because I had a hard time with reading. I have been picking up some really emotional books and my mood was not in the best place when I picked them up. So I decided to not put pressure on myself and take it easy. I picked up 4, which seemed like a safe number to start with. I have a new all-time favorite, which also ironically happens to be an emotional read, but it was inspiring, beautiful, and uplifting at the same time. I have two books I enjoyed immensely and I am finally ready to tackle this year. It’s been a very busy month with kids going back to school and my schedule upside down again. Trying to figure out a routine that worked for me is proving to be quite a challenge.. But I am hopeful and I am positive I will be able to figure things out as I go.

Good wrap up! I haven’t made any number-of-books goals for the year because I probably already spend too much time reading.:-) But I am trying to read more broadly. I am currently reading a novel in verse called Sharp Teeth by Toby Barlow, and a biography about Shirley Jackson called A Rather Haunted Life by Ruth Franklin. Both are different than my normal fare, and both are good.:-)

Thank you Priscilla!! It’s ok, even if you don’t have goals by numbers. I love that you are trying out new books. Isn’t it amazing to explore new books ad authors? I love when I get a new favorite. Loving the name of the new titles. I might check them out.
