FR REVIEW
DISCLAIMER : Thank you, J.F.Johns for providing me with an ARC of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Eternal Darkness Revelation is the epic conclusion to the Eternal Darkness Series. I binge-read the whole series back-to-back, and now, I don’t know what to do with myself. I am furious, frustrated, and hopeful in a good way. Trust me, you will be too after reading this book. I loved that it concluded in a realistic manner rather than our favorite group riding into the sunsets living their happily ever after. This book was an emotional rollercoaster and kept me on the edge of my seats the whole time. I finished an entire pack of 1 kg Egyptian seeds during the binge-read of this series. That alone should tell you my feelings over this series. I was so invested in the story and the characters that I kept on munching on them, to the point of having my jaws ache badly after. And now that I have finished the series I have no idea what to do with myself. The action, the suspense, and the mother of plot-twists made this conclusion to be epic!! You have wrecked me, J.F Johns!! Ahhhh!! It was so worth it!!! I don’t think I have enough patience to wait until the release of After Darkness #2. I need it like right now!!

This review might contain spoilery information, so I advise you to continue reading at your own risk!! Scarlet has untied with her family of X-prototypes. After the attack on the institute, the cyborgs are now teaming up with the Revolutionaries to defeat the corrupt government. With each day tensions arise in the capitals threatening the existence of cyborgs. Riots are getting out of control, and the government is coming up with more rules to enslave the freedom of cyborgs. New forces join in the alliance to bring down the common enemy. Can Scarlet and her group knock the government down? The story takes us through missions to uncover the traitor and defeating enemy bases to target the government. While Scarlet is forced to work with Lucian, she is however suspicious of his motives. Everything comes to head in this explosive conclusion tearing down the very strengths that gave Scarlet and her group confidence. Truths come out, stripping them of their safety net and the final battle will force Scarlet and her friends to face the unflinching reality that is going to cripple them forever.
I have to say, J.F Johns did a fantastic job of bringing a story that can play as a parallel to the world that we live in with the corrupt governments, unfair discriminations, and thoughtless violence and war against people of a minority. The situations described in the book are not that different from some of the stark realities that we face in our world today with the governments putting out propaganda to lure the public into hating on a common enemy to distract them from being questioned for their flaws and failures. The way power-hungry people corrupt the peace and calm of a community by sowing seeds of distrust, fear, and otherism. The utter hopelessness of some, the sheer resilience of the oppressed all are wonderfully captured realistically. The emotions were on point and the characters showed us the effects of their life under oppression exceptionally. I loved everything about this series and the emotions it pulled from me. I was right there in the moment with the characters feeling their pain, anger, and frustration with the system. Being in the trenches with the characters and being able to explore and respond to the emotions that were brought on by the circumstances makes reading this book so much more wonderful.
I have no idea why this series is not being talked about. It deserves wider recognition. The story is set in a unique dystopian world, the cast of characters that you will love and connect with, action, tension, and high stakes to keep the readers engaged and excited from the get-go. If these are things that sound good to you please, please, please go check out this series, I highly recommend it!! I gave the book a high 4.5 stars and am so pumped for the After darkness #2. Make sure to check out this series and give the author lots of love, because she deserves it. I had so much fun and I loved every second of this series.
