Oblivion is the second book in the Eternal Darkness Series. Scarlet Lock is missing. She wakes up in chains at a different location. She is in the custody of Lucian White, the leader of Revolutionaries. Scarlet’s memory hasn’t completely returned and she struggles to figure out her history with Lucian. Even though Lucian tells her he is on her side, she doesn’t trust him. She is then sent on a mission to find the rest of the X-prototypes to fight against the government. Meanwhile, Eric and Sam are worried and have been trying their best to find Scarlet with no success. Andrew ends up getting into trouble and needs Eric’s help to rescue his sister. Everything is up in the air. Time is of the essence, with each party having their tasks to complete. The situation gets more dangerous as they get closer to their goals. Working together as a team will be the only thing to help them achieve their end goal.

Scarlet is coming to terms with her identity as a clone. She has still not fully processed the fact yet. Her fears and worries take over and she pushes Eric away. She wants to distance herself from people around her but she ends up getting attached and fighting for them. Scarlet struggles with keeping things impersonal, her humanity comes to the forefront every time she attempts to be just a soldier.

Eric is broken and hurt. He is relentless in his pursuit of Scarlet. His commitment and love for her are quite remarkable. Even though Scarlet puts distance between them Eric is determined to make her a priority. He is still the guy who jokes and keeps things light, but when it comes to Scarlet he is dedicated, protective, and selfless. He is most definitely one of my favorite characters along with Sam.

Ryder is also lovely. He is a great friend and just like Eric has Scarlet as a priority. He is protective of her. He is dedicated to the team. He is loyal and wonderful. There are more characters that we get to know in detail in this book. I have liked everyone I met in this book. They all are in this together and their fight against the government is getting heated with each passing day.

More action-packed and filled with the loss of some of the memorable characters this book will play with your emotions. It is a fantastic continuation of the first book and the pacing and action keeping us constantly on our toes. This is a well-written book, yet again introducing likable characters that you can’t help root for. I have invested in their cause and with each book, the stakes get higher. The book is packed with action, tension, a mystery that deepens with the progression of the story. I gave the book 4.5 stars and enjoyed taking the journey along with the rag-tag team of cyborgs and humans in their fight for their freedom. Make sure to check this book out and I highly recommend getting the whole series and having a binge-fest. It is that good. If you want a binge-able Dystopian Sci-Fi this is the series for you.

SYNOPSIS

The world is divided between humans and cyborgs.
Scarlet Lock is neither.

She is a soldier created to kill on command, and is now in the hands of Lucian White, leader of the Revolutionaries.

Lucian and Scarlet share a past and now a future. They need to find the other X-Prototypes before the battle against the government begins.

Eric Thorn will stop at nothing to get Scarlet back while Andrew Silverstone needs to find Eric to save his sister.

It’s a race against time.

They must hurry or else, fall into eternal oblivion.
