Regine has done a fantastic job of presenting a book that tackles common issues faced by today’s youth, be it anxiety, depression or stress. This book is full of practical steps one can undertake to keep the anxiety and depression under control. The idea is to find the perfect balance where the individual can control the impact of the stress but at the same time live a healthy wholesome life. The author explains depression, anxiety in simpler terms and helps the readers by providing methods to identify them as well.
The book is a guideline for the youth and adults alike who are facing these problems and provides practical steps that can be incorporated into the reader’s daily routine. The action plan detailed in this book can used to deal with different situations and has various techniques that can be used to resolve the issues effectively.
This manual focuses on identifying the thoughts, emotions, triggers, and behaviors and helps the readers figure out the right plan to deal with the respective situation. There is a wide variety of CBT, mindfulness, exposure, and coping techniques to prevent the body from going into fight-flight-freeze mode. The central theme for the book is to ask oneself what they are struggling with and the questionnaire is super helpful in identifying the underlying issues. I gave the book 5 stars and highly recommend checking it out. This would be an amazing read for any of those out there who are struggling with anxiety and depression. Parents of youngsters, youth or adults should definitely read this book. It is helpful and extremely beneficial to bring about a positive, honest and realistic outlook towards life. This is simply the most relevant non-fiction, self-help book and because of that, it is very important to be aware of it.
